Kenya Tree Coral

Here’s one of the easiest corals to both care for and propagate. The Kenya Tree coral is a soft coral that relies both on photosynthesis and, to a greater extent, planktonic food. This coral will pop up in various places throughout your aquarium. Branches will be cleaved off, set adrift, and settle on rocks and in the sand. These branches will attach to the substrate and grow into their own colonies.

Orange Centered Zoas and Button Polyps

Pictured above is a nice mixture of Zoanthids and Palythoas. These two colonies have done very well under T5HO lighting, and have even grown together with polyps intruding into each others’ space. The Button Polyps are noticeably larger in size than the Zoanthids, and can even eat large food, such as frozen dried Mysis and Brine shrimp.

Green and Red Zoanthids

Pictured is a nice little colony of green and red Zoanthids. These Zoas have a red center with a slight amount of purple/blue surrounding that center. The skirt on these polyps are a bright green. I’m not sure of their commercial name, but they certainly look good.

Blue Zoanthids

Zoanthids are very pretty and very easy to care for. These zoas are a deep blue with a slightly red/black skirt surrounding the central disk. Oftentimes they are misidentified as Tubb’s Blue Zoanthids, which they are not. The Tubb’s Blues are a lighter blue.

Elongated Pulsing Xenia

Pulsing Xenia is one of those corals that can be both a pest and a gorgeous specimen. The unique pulsing action of each polyp makes for an entertaining site for sure, but these corals can grow and reproduce very quickly.

Zoanthid Garden

Here is a gorgeous garden of Zoanthid corals. These corals can be quite stunning, varying in both color and pattern tremendously.

Blue Anthelia

The polyps of this Blue Anthelia are very small and this coral is actually quite invasive. You could keep the coral on a secluded rock, but polyps will eventually show up in other places.

Green and Purple Zoanthids

This particular Zoanthid is fairly common, but the colors on this one seem so much more vibrant and unique. This picture was taken at a local fish store, City Pets

Eye of Ra Zoanthids

Here is a picture of a stunning cluster of Eye of Ra Zoanthids. The commercial name for these may be incorrect, but despite that, these zoas are gorgeous.
