The blotchy anthias (Odontanthias borbonius) is a relative newcomer to the aquarium scene. It’s tenure in the trade has been limited to just a handful of years, as it is a very rare fish that often found in waters exceeding 500 feet. The species originates from the Indo-Pacific region, with individuals being reported as far north as Japan and as far west as Africa. The O. borbonis is an intensely beautiful fish that commands a triple digit price tag.
